About Me

I’ve always had a deep love of fashion. As a young girl, I would browse through my mom’s copies of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. I’d stare at the beautiful women in those beautiful outfits; I wanted to be just like them in their amazing outfits. Fast forward to now, at age 26, I still do the same thing but my perusing usually takes place on Instagram. Obviously I wouldn’t consider myself a fashionista by any means, but I love to draw from other people for inspiration to discover more of my own style. This blog is an outlet to share my inspirations and the joys of creating the perfect outfit.

The inspiration behind the title of this blog, My Gown Closet, comes from my mom. When I hit 21, she kept telling me to dress like a grown up and not a college student. I noticed I was wearing leggings, flannels, and chucks for longer than I should have. From hearing this, I have been able to expand and grow my own, personal style. While you’ll still see me sporting my chucks, I definitely have had my style evolve into a grown woman’s closet.
